Gray’s Creek Elementary School and Alderman Road Elementary School have been connected to Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) public water service.

The project was made possible through a $12 million appropriation from the North Carolina General Assembly and provides both schools with a reliable public water source. All required testing and certifications were completed before the water was placed into use at the schools. 

“We appreciate the partnership of PWC, our state leaders and everyone who helped make this important project possible for our schools and community,” said Dr. Eric C. Bracy, superintendent of Cumberland County Schools (CCS). 

According to PWC, its drinking water meets all current U.S. Environmental Protection Agency drinking-water standards. PWC performs more than 150,000 water-quality tests annually for 118 regulated elements and contaminants.
