Information on what to do for Red Ribbon WeekGCES October 29- November 2, 2018

Monday: Wear red – to kick off Red Ribbon Week!
Tuesday:  Sock it to Drugs – wear your crazy socks!
Wednesday:  Drugs are Tacky – Wear a tacky outfit!
Thursday:  Put a lid on drugs –  Wear your favorite hat!
Friday:  Stay in the game, and stay away from drugs!  Wear your favorite sports shirt or jersey!

Turkey Trot

Grays Creek Elementary School PTA will be hosting their 7th Annual Turkey Trot 5K and 1 mile fun run.  The event will be held November 17, 2018.    This is a non-profit organization that will use the funds to enrich our school and community.  Cash prizes will be given to top 3 male and female finishers in the 5K.  There are also prizes for both male and female top three finishers in each age bracket.

In 2014 we gave out over $2500 in prizes!!  Each participant in the 5K registered by November 4th, 2018 will receive a finishers medal and an event shirt.  1 mile participants will have the option to run for the low cost of $15 to include an event shirt.  Price is $25 for 5K/ $15 for 1 mile.

T-Shirts are reserved for those who pre-register by November 4, 2018 but not guaranteed for race day registrants.

Fayetteville, NC – The Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is working closely with Cumberland County Emergency Management to monitor the path of Hurricane Michael. The safety of students and staff is our top priority.

Based on the State of Emergency issued by Governor Roy Cooper and information received from the National Weather Service regarding the storm’s possible impact on Cumberland County, the CCS will be closed on Thursday, October 11, for all staff and students (Option D). All after-school activities, events and athletic events are canceled on October 11.

School Closing InformationIn light of the aftermath of Hurricane Florence and the evacuation of numerous students, employees, and their families, the Cumberland County Schools (CCS) will be closed for students on Thursday, September 20 and Friday, September 21. On both days, an Optional Workday for All Personnel will be observed. Make-up days will be announced at a later time.

Prime Time will be closed on Thursday, September 20 and Friday, September 21.

All after-school activities and events are canceled through Sunday, September 23.
